How it works

Five steps, from call to signature

Most plans take two meetings and a few weeks. A plan for Medicaid or an estate moves with an agency or a court, so it takes as long as they do.

  1. 01

Step 1: You call or write

Tell us who the plan is for and what is worrying you. We find a time, in person or by video, and tell you what to bring.

  2. 02

Step 2: We sit down together

We draw the family on a sheet of paper, ask what you want to happen, and say what each choice would mean. Coming to a first meeting doesn’t commit you to hiring us.

  3. 03

Step 3: You get a written plan and a flat fee

A short letter says what we recommend, what it covers and what it costs. Nothing is drafted until you say yes.

  4. 04

Step 4: We draft, you read

You get the documents ahead of time and read them at home. We answer every question before anyone signs.

  5. 05

Step 5: You sign, and we stay in touch

Signing takes about an hour, with witnesses we arrange. You leave with copies, a list of what to do next and a date to review the plan.

A short list to bring

  • A photo ID for each person at the meeting
  • The deed to your home, if you have it
  • Any will, trust or power of attorney you already signed
  • A list of bank, retirement and insurance accounts, with approximate values
  • The names and phone numbers of the people you are thinking of naming

Don’t worry if the list isn’t complete. We can begin with what you have.

Start with one call

We’ll tell you what to bring and set a time that suits you.
