Questions

Questions families ask before they call

How much does a first conversation cost?

For wills, trusts and powers of attorney, the first conversation is without charge. For Medicaid planning the first meeting is a flat fee, credited toward the plan if you hire us.

Which of you speaks Spanish?

Elodia Cavazos and Rolando Longoria do, in meetings and in writing. Annelise Rademacher works in English; a Spanish-speaking lawyer can join her meetings on request.

Can I bring my children?

Yes, if you want to. Many families bring a daughter or a son to take notes. You may also meet alone first.

Are the fees really flat?

For documents, yes: the fee is written in a letter before we draft anything. Court filing and county recording fees are separate. For an estate or an appeal, we explain how fees work at the first meeting.

How long does a plan take?

Most wills and powers of attorney take two meetings over two to three weeks. A trust, a Medicaid plan or an estate takes longer, and we tell you how long at the start.

Do I have to live in one of the three cities?

No. Many of our clients live in nearby towns. We can meet by video, and you come to an office to sign.

What if someone in my family disagrees with the plan?

It happens. We help you write the plan so that it is clear, and we can explain it to relatives when you want us to.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. We use what you tell us only to help you. Please don’t send confidential details through the website; we will tell you the safest way to share them.

Something we didn’t answer?

Call any office, or write to us.
